Electric South has supported African artists from a spectrum of creative disciplines to explore XR storytelling.
Our first projects were co-produced under the New Dimensions banner by Electric South and the Goethe-Institut South Africa, with additional support from Big World Cinema, Blue Ice Docs and the Bertha Foundation.
To date Electric South have produced and supported over 20 XR productions.
“Honme” is a VR experience that makes you embody the spirit of King Béhanzin, entrusted with blessing royal relics for the enthronement of one of his descendants. As you navigate the sacred palace, you witness the blending of past and present, where once stolen artifacts regain their power, and the inner voice of King Béhanzin, full of nostalgia, guides your steps. The journey unveils a forgotten legacy, restoring the kingdom’s soul and ensuring its rightful successor ascends the throne.
