Rick Treweek is a South African creative technologist, XR pioneer and founder of Virtual Worlds Company. With more than 20 years of experience spanning mobile games, virtual reality, AI, digital fabrication and immersive storytelling, his career has been driven by one ambition: bringing digital characters to life. From creating mobile games with over 14 million downloads to co-founding Eden Labs Africa, developing immersive healthcare experiences through Get Well Pals, and collaborating with leading artists and cultural institutions, Treweek has consistently explored the frontier of emerging technology. His latest work, Uncanny Alley: A New Day, has earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Emerging Media Program.
